Hello World, I’m here! I want my mommy!
Lucky was born today.
This is the story as I remember it. It is quite normal for me to work overnight and sleep during the day. That style of living has it’s drawbacks but offers many advantages for me. There is hardly anyone in the story when I go grocery shopping. The internet is open and I get fast service regardless of my destination.
This was another of those normal overnight work sessions of which I spoke earlier. I am not looking for anymo0re cats as we have 1 more than the 3 we wanted while waiting for the oldest to dies to make it 1 more than the 2 we planned on keeping.
I sitting there working away on what ever I was working upon that evening. I hear something that is very distinctive to me. I hear the voice of a cat call out and not just any cat but a young kitten fresh from weaning, it is calling out in an ever so lonely and scared voice. I’m hearing a voice that is way too young to be out on its own. No feral mother would allow its young to venture so close to humans and then there it that car wash almost behind us.
My attempts to ignore this undefendable kitten are failing miserably. Around 5 AM the cries stop and a little while later I venture outside to find out what’s up with this kitten knowing I don’t want it. Big mistake.
I cannot leave that small of a kitten to fend for itself. Just not ******* possible. This kitten didn’t even have teeth strong enough for hard food.
Called our vet who gave some care suggestions and mentioned to bring the kitten to the city pet impound.
I went online and checked out the city ordinances.
- Residents are allowed 2 pets total
- Pets held at the city impound are to be sold to the University of Minnesota explicitly for experimentation
- Licensed pets can be redeemed after payment of a fine
- There are NO adoption options available
***** ******* ******, I cannot possibly get the city involved. No one we knew wanted a kitten.
You are one LUCKY kitten, welcome to our home.
