| 1/1/2010 My tomcat Bard did a rather odd thing last night while I was asleep - or at least I assume it was him. There is a small piece of twine left out for which the cats are allowed to play and he had taken over ownership of that silly little piece of string. Like the proper playtoy of a cat I am, I play with the cats with that string frequently. Well this morning I woke up to a small surprise, that little piece of string had been dragged onto my hand. I remember the sensation of that sisal as it lay upon my hand as I attempted to identify it as I was waking up. The only things I do with the cats when I am asleep is to provide a large area heating pad and to roll over them on occassion (cuddler beware). | ||||||||
| 2/9/2010 I went to a friends home late yesterday afternoon to care for their cats. I've done this from time to time when circumstances have arisen that the cats are left alone for more than a day. Clean the litter, change water, ensure enough food, & given 'em some treats. Pretty easy. I usually spend a little time there surfing the internet and devouring what ever treats are left in the open. After everything was taken care of and I was surfing, their cat named Blue changed its actions towards me. While it is not uncommon for him to lay on the counter next to me, it was very unusual for him to climb upon the back of my chair and head-butt the side of my head while standing on the top of the back of the chair curled behind my head. He continued this for 5 whole minutes until I responded with pets. I patted my lap and he climbed down to it and lay for awhile. Very odd of this cat. | ||||||||
