In September of 1998, Grosse Ile Township and T.A.I.L.S. took a dirt-floor horse barn and turned it into a spacious, animal-friendly shelter. We have come a long way since then.

Our dog kennel area is bright and cheerful. Our individual kennels are large and spacious with comfy armchairs that allow the dogs to be up off the floor.

Our cat room is a very unique place. Each cat has its own cage with cozy cat blankets and toys. After being tested for FelV and FIV, they are allowed to roam free for most of the day, interacting with other cats.

DE - Delaware ==> Forgotten Cats of Delaware - Caring for Feral and Homeless Cats in Delaware

At Forgotten Cats, our mission is to reduce the unwanted cat population without killing and to stop the suffering of the thousands of kittens born to abandoned, homeless cats.

We do this by working with colony caretakers to trap, sterilize, vaccinate, and return every cat within a colony. We provide the necessary medical treatment for sick or injured feral cats, stray cats, and kittens. We are working to find homes for adoptable cats and kittens. We also provide education about spay neuter, and we are assisting other cat rescue groups with trap, neuter, and return programs.
